Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF) held its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 7th. The board emerged from the meeting with sustained momentum and a strong leadership team poised to carry the foundation forward.
The New executive board members were announced:
We welcome Ami Kantawala as Vice President; Ami’s understanding of PSEF’s history and mission, extensive fundraising experience, and service on the PSC executive board and as a board member will be invaluable in the year ahead.

Missy Karr has shared that she is stepping down from the role of President after five years of service on the executive board, including the last two years as President. Missy will remain on the general board this year to assist with the leadership transition. Our sincere thanks to Missy for her dedication and steady stewardship.
Over the past two years, under Missy’s direction, PSEF has committed more than $60,000 in targeted support across capital improvements, coaching and programming, technology upgrades, and direct athlete scholarships. Under Dan’s leadership - bringing extensive ski-racing and venue operations experience along with long-standing board service - the foundation will continue to prioritize these investments.
Kate Brown and Nate Freund have announced they will step down from the board, effective Spring 2026. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kate for her many years of dedicated service to the foundation and the race program, and to Nate for his leadership guiding the organization through several key projects and initiatives.
PSEF is pleased to welcome Vanessa Javor Kaufman to the board. Vanessa brings a strong professional background in global finance and risk management, active community advocacy and PTA involvement, and the perspective of a parent with two daughters currently racing in the Pico Alpine Race Program - insights that will greatly enrich our board’s work.

Through the years, PSEF has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and other financial assistance to better its athletes by supporting them both on snow and off.
On March 29th, we had the honor of presenting our 2026 Annual Scholarships to deserving PSC Athletes at the PSC Awards Ceremony.
