PSEF and Pico Ski Club Leadership are in the early stages of their newest fundraising campaign to create the Junior Racing Development Venue on Little Pico... All made possible by PSEF fundraising efforts.
With the goal of advancing all of the PSC Race Program's preferred training and race venues, enhancements to B-Slope and Exhibition are under way to create more favorable racing and training terrain, trail access and surface conditions.
In March 2018, the Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF) received a $25,000 grant from the Killington World Cup Committee for trail improvements for their training venue.
The Killington World Cup Committee (KWCC) supports programs seeking to increase winter sports participation for youth throughout the Northeast and assist with competition and training infrastructure. In 2018, KWCC awarded 16 grants totaling $207,000 to area nonprofits in seven states.
PSEF is matching the grant provided by KWCC. The resultant $50,000 will be spent on widening and re-contouring the upper third section of B Slope, the primary training and racing slope at the Little Pico Training Venue. Trail work on upper B Slope will double the width on the "Chute" and will significantly improve and expand the most important training venue used by the Pico Ski Club Racing Program.
Fundraising efforts are underway to continue development of Pico's Racing Venue. Future improvements planned include additional terrain modifications and improvements in infrastructure for additional snow making on B-Slope.
