Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF) has provided targeted, meaningful support to Pico’s Youth Alpine Race Program across 2025 and 2026, funding a mixture of safety equipment, technology, coaching, and athlete support priorities.

To improve race infrastructure and timing reliability, PSEF funded B-Slope wiring and a timing system upgrade and invested in new B-net safety fencing. These improvements enhance venue safety and the operational quality of events, directly benefiting athlete experience and race-day efficiency.

Recognizing the importance of coaching and athlete readiness, the Foundation purchased new coaches’ coats and allocated supplemental funding to Race for programming and coaching resources for the 2025/26 season and has approved an additional funding commitment for the 2026/27 season. These investments ensure coaches have necessary gear and that the program is staffed and resourced to deliver high-quality training and competition opportunities.

The Foundation also supported program modernization and athlete access through technology and financial assistance. A budgeted technology purchase of new iPads and video enhancements helps with timing, video review, and communications, while funding toward scholarships and post-season race resourcing lowers financial barriers and supports athlete development beyond the regular season.

This season's PSC Race Program Awards and PSEF Scholarships will be presented on Sunday, March 29th.
Following the PSC Race awards, we will host a PSEF Community Celebration. This will be an informal family/community ski/uphill gathering followed by light refreshments and ice-cream as a “Thank You” for the incredible fundraising support from the greater Pico Community this year.

Collectively, these contributions - totaling more than $60,000 - reflect a balanced approach that addresses safety, coaching, equipment, technology, and athlete support. By funding both capital infrastructure needs and ongoing programming commitments, the Pico Ski Education Foundation strengthens the long-term health and competitiveness of Pico’s Youth Alpine Race Program.
